Two Armed Security Guard Got Hurt In Y-12 Incident

A spokesperson for the Y-12 National Security Complex confirmed to 10News that two of their security officers got hurt on Saturday evening after an accidental discharge of a firearm.

In a statement, Steven Wyatt explained that the two employees received minor injuries and received first aid at the complex.

The employees were then taken to the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center where they were treated and released right after.

The reason behind the incident is still under investigation.

It was one year ago on Sunday that a nun and two men broke into the Y-12 complex, making it all the way to the Highly Enriched Uranium Materials Facility, where they splashed blood and wrote several messages on the walls.
